Daisy Hall passes, inspirational mother to be celebrated

May 31, 2013

Daisy Hall

Mother Daisy Hall, a tremendous symbol to the legacy of family and spiritual life passed on Sat., May 25, 2013. She and her husband, the late Levester Hall represented the classic example of the large family bound together by the commitment around family and faith.

Her legacy will live far beyond her years and her community service is legendary. Her deepest commitment related to her lifelong service in so many efforts in Milwaukee related to helping others through the Church Of God In Christ. Her decades of serving the elderly, promoting youth and establishing a scholarship fund more than 25 years ago helped countless people in Milwaukee.

Her deep religious commitment was not just contained within the four walls of the church building but evidenced and impacted people throughout the community. She was among the founding members of the expansion of COGIC in Wisconsin and was completely engaged in it becoming the largest African- American Pentecostal denomination in Milwaukee, having started this work more than 50 years ago with the last Bishop W.L. Morris and continuing at Bethesda COGIC Outreach Ministries.

As important as her work and activities were in connection with the church, her deep love and affection for family was truly legendary. Scores of relatives in this community were touched by her kindness and love and many serve in prominent roles in the religious community in Milwaukee. Her funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 5:00 pm at Holy Redeemer Church Of God In Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to the Levester and Daisy Hall Scholarship Fund which provides scholarships for local youngsters to pursue education. Those should be sent to the attention of Levester and Daisy Hall Scholarship Fund, Attn: Bethesda Church Of God In Christ, 2810 W. Highland, Milwaukee, WI.
