On Monday, Aug. 26, Milwaukee Bucks general manager John Hammond, head coach Larry Drew and center Larry Sanders conducted a formal press conference at Pieper- Hillside Boys & Girls Club to formally announce the multi-year contract extension signed by Sanders on Aug. 20. Vincent Lyles, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee introduced Sanders.

The Milwaukee Bucks’ proud tradition of supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee will be continued by Sanders who will donate 500 backpacks filled with school supplies to youth from the Clubs. Last season, Sanders donated a new scoreboard to the Pieper- Hillside gym, which earned him the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee Community Champion award. Bucks owner Herb Kohl, current and former players and coaches, as well as front office staff have been involved with the Clubs for over 40 years.

Bucks alum Sam Williams is the executive vice president and director of community relations for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and has worked with the Clubs for 42 years.

Sanders had a breakout year for the Bucks in 2012-13 when he posted career highs across the board with averages of 9.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game (2nd in the NBA).
