Gathering and Homegoing services to be held for Nathaniel “Chip Carter” Jones

Nathaniel Jones, also known as “Chip Carter” was murdered on April 17th and died a HERO while fighting off armed attackers. The three men who were under 18 years-old were armed with pistols and gained entry into the home by kicking the back door down.

After following the gunman’s instruction and laying on the ground ,”CHIP”, became engaged in a struggle over the guns after they were pointed at the women and children. Chip Carter and Robert Carter both in their mid- 50s were shot in the home invasion robbery attempt and Chip died of a single gunshot wound to the back which entered his heart.

Nathaniel Chip Jones was born on January 9, 1958 to Hazel & Nate Jones in Milwaukee, WI. Chip is survived by mother, Hazel Carter along with Jackie Edwards & Valerie Bell, his surviving sisters. Chip joins his brother, Chuckie & Nate and his father in Heaven.

Family & friends will gather on Friday, May 3, 2013 for a benefit / fundraiser to honor Chip’s life & contributions that he has made to so many. This event will take place at New Entertainers Lounge, located on the corner of North 54th & West Green Tree Road. Music & entertainment will be provided by Life 2Wice jazz trio, starting at 6:00 P.M. until; musicians are invited to come & take part in this celebration.

The homegoing celebration of life of Nathaniel Chip Jones Jr. will take place on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Reed’s New Golden Gate Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M.

The celebration service will begin at 1:00 P.M. Reverend Lovelace Redmond will officiate the services; all are invited.
