Supervisor Bowen invites the public to enjoy a free concert in Johnson’s Park

August 11, 2012

Family event on August 17, 2012 to feature Hip Hop, Neo-Soul and Drumline

Supervisor David Bowen, District 10, along with the Johnson’s Park Neighborhood Association and Milwaukee County Parks, is pleased to announce a free concert in Johnson’s Park on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

“I encourage people to pack a picnic supper and some lawn chairs or a blanket to fully enjoy this summer night of spectacular entertainment with neighbors, friends and family,” said Supervisor Bowen.

The concert is set to feature family-friendly music, including hip hop by BLAX, neo-soul by the Jazz Poets and special guests, Nei Phi Neph Drumline.

Free Concert in Johnson’s Park 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 20th & Brown St. & Fond Du Lac Ave.

Free, healthy food will be provided by “Feed the People” while supplies last. Feed the People is based upon creating a healthy food culture in Black Milwaukee, bettering the health of Black families, and strengthening the community.

While parking on 20th St. or Brown St. is typically available, Supervisor Bowen is encouraging concert-goers to walk to the concert to take advantage of a beautiful, summer night in Milwaukee County.
