Everest College Milwaukee (Everest) last week commemorated the official grand opening of its 45,000 square foot campus with a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony. The new campus is designed to accommodate up to 1,000 students, and currently enrolls 376 students.
Mark Sullivan, president of Everest College Milwaukee, provided remarks at the ceremony, which included attendance by Everest staff members, elected officials, and civic leaders. Attendees also heard remarks from Charles Walton, president of Career Youth Development, Latanya Philon, student at Everest College Milwaukee, and Mark Simpson, Chief Academic Officer of Corinthian Colleges.
“Our mission is to provide an opportunity for career training for Milwaukee residents,” said Sullivan. “We have begun pursuing that mission, and we have successfully started to strengthen the educational profile of the City of Milwaukee, giving our students the option to enroll in higher education and expand their career options.”

Everest provides short-term diploma programs allowing students to receive concentrated training in a particular field, in a short time span. The average program lasts eight to 10 months, making higher education and job training accessible to more adult students. Everest targets programs for occupations that are currently in high-demand in Milwaukee, helping connect students to jobs in the community.
Everest began offering classes in Milwaukee in October 2010, providing access to a variety of diploma programs including dental and medical assistant, pharmacy technician, massage therapist, medical billing and coding, and medical administrative assistant programs.
“Career Youth Development supports the mission of Everest College as it works to make higher education and job training accessible to students in a supportive and empowering environment,” said Charles Walton, president of Career Youth Development. “Within the students are planted the seeds of greatness to achieve any goal. Students should set a goal and work towards that goal in a positive frame of mind, and never give up.”
The new campus has employed 87 new faculty and staff positions. The new campus also features interactive classroom technology such as Wi-Fi, laptops and SMART boards, as well as, dental and medical labs, a massage therapy studio, a pharmacy and more.
