Enjoy great pizza and support The Salvation Army’s services for homeless children

October 2, 2010

Enjoy great pizza and support the Children’s Development Program at The Salvation Army Emergency Lodge. Dine in or take out on Tuesday, October 5 at Bartolotta’s Pizzeria Piccola, 7600 W. State Street, downtown Wauwatosa from 4-9 p.m. and help raise funds to support children in need.

Families make up 40 percent of the country’s homeless population. The average homeless person in Milwaukee is 9 years old. In Milwaukee, 1 in 3 children are living in poverty. Not having a home impacts every aspect of a child’s life. It can damage their physical and emotional health and interfere with their education and development. The Children’s Development Program at The Salvation Army Emergency Lodge addresses these needs of homeless children and their families through shelter, family case management, housing assistance, tutoring, summer camps and more.

Frozen pizza orders can also be placed by contacting Stephanie Sprewer at The Salvation Army (414) 302-4300 x2223 or visit us at www.SAmilwaukee.org.
