The Milwaukee Urban League hosted its annual National Achievers Society Youth Induction Ceremony on Monday, May 12, 2014 at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee (UWM), 2200 East Kenwood Boulevard, from 5:30-7:30pm. The National Achievers Society (NAS) is a key component of the League’s Education and Training Initiatives.

The purpose of the NAS induction is to promote, encourage and recognize all students for their academic achievement and continuing education.

The event is a catalyst that will bring together a diverse group of parents, families, friends and sponsors to celebrate the students for their academic achievement.

The League believes that inductees will be future leaders in the Milwaukee community.

Ralph Hollmon, President and CEO of the League stated that, “This ceremony was an opportunity to recognize some of our best and most gifted students.

Young people who understand the value and importance of education and our global technological society, education is the key that unlocks the doors of opportunity.”

Inductees will be exposed to college preparation workshops, college tours, financial aid forums, community service projects and access to numerous scholarships.

The evening’s guest speaker was Noah A. Fenceroy, an attorney who graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison.

Noah is also a member of the Milwaukee Urban League Board and the Senior Managing Attorney- Business Law providing legal counsel for the Manpower Group.
