Milwaukee Urban League’s new program administrator/chief operating officer

The Milwaukee Urban League is pleased to announce that Vanessa Claypool has been selected as its new Program Administrator and Chief Operating Officer. Vanessa began her duties on September 4, 2012 and will be responsible for supervising League programs and managing the day-to-day internal operations. Ms. Claypool said “My passion is to utilize my gifts and keen awareness of the challenges facing our community; to deliver quality services to youth and families within the city of Milwaukee; and to make a positive impact and see lives change” .

Vanessa has a MS in Non- Profit Organizational Management & Leadership from Springfield College and a BS in Business Administration from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA.

Ms. Claypool brings a wealth of experience to this position, having served as the Workforce Development and Training Director for the Milwaukee Center for Independence (MCFI) and the Executive Director of Heartlove Place. In addition, Vanessa previously held leadership positions with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and the Firststar Corporation.

Ralph Hollmon, president & CEO of the League, said he was delighted to have someone with Vanessa’s strong management and community service background join the Urban League team and looks forward to her helping the league continue its long rich history of providing greatly needed services to our community.

The Milwaukee Urban League, founded in 1919, provides Education, Workforce and Economic Development programs to help individuals become more self-reliant so they can improve the quality Vanessa Claypool of their lives.
