Maintaining the momentum of the past 30 years, The Milwaukee Urban League will host its Annual Health and Resource Fair on August 18, 2012 at the Fitzsimonds Boys & Girls Club, 3400 W. North Avenue from 10:00am – 2:00pm.
Intent on reaching out to minority communities and providing the planning tools and resources to encourage better health decisions, the Fair expands beyond the traditional definition of health education to tackle pervasive issues such as: Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity, HIV, and Glaucoma. Fair attendees will have access to a dynamic team of local health providers who will offer FREE health screenings including; immunizations, blood pressure and vision tests. Families who take advantage of these health screenings will receive a food basket and FREE back packs with school supplies for children in attendance. The FREE back packs are made possible by a funding at the Urban League’s 30th Black and White Ball.
