Mahlon Mitchell easily won his primary contest for Lieutenant Governor

May 19, 2012

Mahlon Mitchell, firefighter and president of the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin, easily won his primary contest for Lieutenant Governor securing 395,944 votes (52 percent) on Tuesday, May 8. Pictured above with Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele, Mitchell will face off against incumbent Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch. A new poll by Public Policy Polling and Daily Kos released this week highlighted the momentum and support building around Mitchell’s campaign for Lt. Gov. The poll shows the race between Mitchell and Kleefisch has tightened significantly, with Mitchell now within the margin of error. In addition, Mitchell’s approval and name recognition have jumped, while Rebecca Kleefisch’s remain largely unchanged. (Photo by Robert A. Bell)
