Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.-Milwaukee Alumnae Chapter seeks to empower women from all over Milwaukee County as it addresses domestic and sexual violence and human trafficking during its Annual Women’s Day/National Impact Day event on Saturday, March 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Heartlove Place, located at 3229 N. Nationally and locally, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is working to address violence against women and encouraging all to break the culture of silence surrounding this issue. For the Milwaukee Alumnae Chapter, its Women’s Day event features guest speakers who will discuss how sexual violence impacts the entire community and what actions to take to address it. Guest speakers include Antonia Vann of ASHA Family Services, psychiatrist Hillary Wynn and Julie Burney Witherspoon of the Cops ‘N Kids Reading Center, Inc. In addition to the guest speakers, there will be representatives and resources available from local health care organizations that address mind, body and spirit.
