FAMILY ADVOCATE
The Social Development Commission (SDC) plans, develops and operates programs to improve the lives of low-income people in Milwaukee. This position works in our Youth & Family Development Program and manages the caseload of youth referred through the court system, schools or other sources. Job duties involve developing Individual Service Plans and working with youth to monitor progress towards completion of the plan. This position also advocates and intervenes for and/or with clients (i.e. youth, parents, etc) and assist them in accessing services. Assists special activities, trips, etc and conducts classes/workshops and presentations for youth and/or parents. The incumbent must be available to work weekday evenings and weekends. Job requirements consist of a Bachelors’ degree in Human Services and 2 years of related experience. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience utilizing community resources is highly desired. Benefits package includes health insurance, four weeks vacation; personal, vacation and sick days, a pension plan and tuition reimbursement.
