Assistant Cook
The Social Development Commission (SDC) plans, develops and operates programs to improve the lives of low-income people in Milwaukee County. The Assistant Cook prepares food (breakfast, lunch and snacks) for the Food Service Program on a daily basis. Job duties also include cleaning and maintaining kitchen utensils and equipment, complying with the sanitation, health and safety standards for food preparation, and maintaining an accurate inventory of issued stock. 30% of the daily work tasks involve lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying cases of food and/or kitchen equipment/utensils from shelves to a push cart or placing and/or retrieving pans from ovens. The incumbent must be able to able to lift between 25 – 50 lbs. with or without assistance. This position requires a High School diploma and 2 years of administrative experience or equivalent education and experience.
