Psychologist/Sr. Psychologist
Norris Health Center’s Counseling Unit seeks an experienced psychologist to provide assessment, short-term counseling and crisis intervention. The 9-month position also involves consultation with Health Center and campus staff regarding mental health issues. Qualified candidates must have doctoral degree (Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D.) in clinical, educational, or counseling psychology, and must be licensed to practice Psychology in the State of Wisconsin or be license-eligible and able to attain such licensure in Wisconsin within one year of hire. The position requires a minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral clinical experience.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience conducting brief psychotherapy, working with clients from diverse backgrounds, treating college-aged individuals as well as clients with serious mental illness, and possess the skills necessary to supervise advanced practicum students. Candidates who demonstrate a passion for working with the developmental issues of traditional college-aged students and who use a flexible approach to dealing with these issues will be given preference. Experience in the treatment of international students, LGBTQ issues and/or college counseling center experience highly desirable.
