For over forty-five years, the Social Development Commission (SDC) has served as a planner, coordinator, and implementer of human service programs for low-income individuals and families in Milwaukee County. We currently have the following job openings:
Transitional Job Developer
The Job Developer is responsible for marketing employment services to area employers and will work in collaboration with Job Coaches and other staff to connect transitional jobs participants to employment opportunities and assist in their job retention and meet agency, state and departmental benchmarks. This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, vocational counseling, or a related field. Three years professional experience, knowledge of staffing, employer marketing, career assessments and evaluations, job development and job placement. Demonstrated ability to monitor program process, progress and make improvement recommendations based on internal and external factors. Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills.. An awareness, knowledge and sensitivity to socioeconomic and cultural diverse backgrounds of the target populations served. Also, experience in providing employment services for individuals seeking jobs, including persons with disabilities is a plus.
Transitional Job Coach
The Transitional Job Coach will be assigned a caseload within the Milwaukee Works Program of participants that have been referred or self referred to the program. Will develop IEP’s (Individual Employment Plan) for each participant; will work with participants to ensure that they are progressing toward the satisfactory completion of their plan. Job duties also involve working with participants, in conjunction with the FIRST Unit to help them access SDC and other community services and resources. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in human services and 2 years directly related experience; Knowledge of community resources is a Level 13; This plus 30 credits towards MSW is a Level 14; this plus a MSW is a Level 15. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse client population. Understanding the needs and challenges of the unemployed and underemployed adults along with current and future trends regarding their employability is a plus.
