Tour Historic Central Library
Tour the Central Library, 814 W. Wisconsin Ave., with the Friends. Free tours begin at 11 a.m. each Saturday afternoon in the rotunda. Tour goers receive a coupon for a free book at the end of the tour in the Bookseller Store and Café. To arrange for a special tour call (414) 286-TOUR.

EVENTS

BYOD – Bring Your Own Device
Learn how to set up your iPad, Kindle, Nook or tablet to download free eBooks, audiobooks and magazines available to you as a Milwaukee Public Library card holder. Please bring your Milwaukee Public Library card and all passwords.

Book to Art Club
Engage with popular literature in a hands-on, imaginative way at the East Branch, 2320 N. Cramer St., Tuesday, June 28, 6-7 p.m. Each month the Book to Art Club will read a selected novel then work on an art project inspired by the story. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please register online or by calling Ready Reference at 286-3011. Registration will open the day of the previous month’s program.

History Buff Book Club
Join the discussion of The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt’s Darkest Journey by Candice Millard at the Tippecanoe Branch, 3912 S. Howell Ave., Thursday, June 30, 5-7 p.m.

Secret Garden Story Time
Explore night-themed stories outside in our Secret Garden! We’ll read about nocturnal animals, stars, and more in this pajama story time for children 4 and up at the Tippecanoe Branch, 3912 S. Howell Ave., Monday, June 27, 6:30-7 p.m. Space is limited so please arrive early. Program will be held indoors in case of inclement weather.

BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanket) Family Story Time
Enjoy stories, fingerplays, and music on a summer evening in Zablocki Library’s courtyard, 3501 W. Oklahoma Ave., Monday, June 27, 6:15-7 p.m. (if it rains we will move inside). Curious After 75 years – 2016 marks 75 years for a curious monkey named George. Celebrate Curious George with stories, crafts and snacks.

Game Night at the Library
Play various board games and put puzzles together, try out the Wii and enjoy snacks at Center Street Library, 2727 W. Fond du Lac Ave., Monday, June 27, 6-7:30 p.m.

Pajama Story Time
Families with young children are invited to have fun sharing stories, songs and rhymes designed to develop early literacy skills and encourage a love of reading at the East Branch, 2320 N. Cramer St., Monday, June 27, 6:30-7 p.m. Come dressed in your coziest PJs and bring a stuffed animal friend.

Play & Learn
Imaginative play for families with young children at Washington Park Library, 2121 N. Sherman Blvd.,
Saturday, July 2, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Ice Cream Parlor. Join us as we work at the ice cream parlor.  Put on your apron, roll up your sleeves and grab a scoop!

Playgroup With Stories
A 20-minute story time for children and their parents or guardian is followed by open play time with a variety of age-appropriate, educational toys.

Saturday Afternoons at Central for ‘Tweens
Saturday Crafternoon: Fiber and Fabric Fun at Central Library, 814 W. Wisconsin Ave., Saturday, July 2, 2-3 p.m. Release your creativity with interesting crafts from knotting a friendship bracelet to simple weaving using string, yarn and various fabrics.

Preschool Story Time
Preschoolers are invited for fun stories, songs, and finger plays designed to help them develop important literacy skills needed prior to learning how to read. Child care centers are welcome.
