Book to Art Club

Central Library business librarians will explain the seven-step strategy for conducting a patent search at Central Library, 814 W. While librarians cannot do a patent search for you, these monthly programs will demonstrate how to get started by following the USPTO guidelines.

Charlotte Brontë Birthday Bash
Attend a special bicentennial celebration of the birthday of Charlotte Brontë at Central Library, 814 W. Wisconsin Ave., Saturday, April 30, 2-3:30 p.m. in the Richard E. and Lucile Krug Rare Books Room. Local English professor Sukanya Banerjee paints a picture of Brontë’s life in 19th century England. Bring a friend to join the celebration with crafts including spring cherry blossoms and Victorian cuffs.

2016 Teen Poetry Contest
Do you have a way with words? Milwaukee youth, ages 10-18 are encouraged to submit an original poem with an entry form to compete in this year’s Poetry Contest! Submit up to two poems online at www.mpl.org from April 1-30. Prizes will be awarded to top poems in three age categories (10-12, 13-15, and 16-18). Winners will be announced at the Teen Poetry Slam at the Villard Square Branch, 5190 N. 35th St. on Monday, May 16, 6-7:30 p.m. and may be published on the MPL web page and Facebook pages!
