Wauwatosa, WI (November, 2015) “It’s a privilege to have Milwaukee Fire Department Chief Mark Rohlfing serve as the honorary chair for our Red Kettle Christmas Campaign.

His commitment to the safety of the residents of Milwaukee parallels our mission of meeting human need without discrimination, makes Chief Rohlfing the perfect community leader to chair this year’s campaign, ” said Major Dan Jennings, divisional commander of The Salvation Army of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan.

“I am honored to serve as The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Honorary Chair. “I’m inviting the public to join me, Major Dan Jennings and Captain Red Kettle as we ring in the holiday and Christmas seasons together at this year’s Red Kettle Kick Off,” said Milwaukee Fire Chief Mark Rohlfing.

The Salvation Army Red Kettle Kick Off will take place at the Milwaukee Public Market, 400 W. Water St., on Friday, November 6 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. A pancake breakfast will be served.

From its humble beginnings as a Salvation Army captain’s startup program in 1891 in San Francisco, the Red Kettle Campaign has grown into one of the most recognizable and important charitable campaigns in the United States. It provides toys for kids, coats for the homeless, food for the hungry and countless social service programs year-round.
