Raising awareness during Men’s Health Month is the focus
Milwaukee, WI – (June 11, 2014) Health and wellness website, Brain Brawn & Body (www.brainbrawnbody.com) presents two “New Faces” in the June issue of the online website. Darryl Davidson, Men’s Health Manager, City of Milwaukee Health Department and Aaron Perry, a former police officer and an accomplished triathlete are featured on the website’s Personal Profile page.
As the Men’s Health Manager Darryl leads, develops, and directs staff and the organizational activities related to male health focused priorities at the health department.
He organized efforts to create the city’s first Men’s Health Center, a one stop shop dedicated to meeting the health and social service needs of men in Milwaukee.
Darryl facilitates cooperative relationships among community health and strategic planning partners by connecting best practices and theory to needs identified by Milwaukee men and boys.
He and his teams promote client independence by establishing patient care goals and reinforcing their understanding of how a healthy lifestyle and behavior choices influence the onset of disease and its management.
Aaron is a native Milwaukeean, now living in Madison, Wisconsin. He is the worlds first and only African American insulin dependent diabetic Ironman Triathlete.
Aaron currently works for the Dane County Juvenile Justice Gang Intervention Unit and he moonlights as the host of the Tuesday 8 ‘0clock Buzz radio show on WORT 89.9FM. Always concerned about the health and wellness of others, he serves as the chairman of the Dane County African American Men’s Health Advisory Committee.
“These two men, like the twenty-two other “New Faces” we will introduce this year, are fine examples of the type of people we are proud to profile on the homepage of Brain Brawn & Body,” says Eric Von, founder of the website.
“It was important to us that the men we choose are role models for the principals we extol. Their care and concern for others is evident in the work they do and in their personal lives.”
Each month, Brain Brawn & Body introduces two “New Faces”.
