Longtime Milwaukee drummer Anthony ‘Tony’ Finlayson jams with local Boys & Girls Club members

January 14, 2012

Longtime Milwaukee drummer Anthony ‘Tony’ Finlayson jams with local Boys & Girls Club members during the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee’s Annual Fine Arts Exhibit held last Thursday, Jan. 5 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at its Mardak Administration Center located at 1558 N. 6th St. The event took place in the building’s lower level and was free to the public. For the Exhibit, 70 pieces by Club members were showcased. Participants were judged by age group and their original work was featured in one of ten categories: monochromatic drawing, multicolored drawing, pastel, watercolor, oil/acrylic, print making, mixed media, collage, sculpture and group project. In addition, the Fine Art Exhibit featured wearable art, various food sculptures, and the drum and dance performance shown above. Afterwards, the first place winner of each art category and age group will advance to the Midwest Regional Fine Art Exhibit in March. (Photo by Robert A. Bell)
