Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee inspires and empowers local youth to realize their full potential. Now thanks to a gift from the Herzing Educational Foundation, Club members have an additional source of empowerment as they pursue their education and career goals.
The Herzing Educational Foundation made a $40,000 donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee. Of this gift, half of the amount will provide members with scholarships to attend Herzing University or other accredited career orientated program and the remaining half will aid Boys & Girls Club programs. To announce the gift, a check presentation took place on Thurs., Dec. 22 at the Daniels- Mardak Boys & Girls Club located at 4834 N. 35th St.
“I am delighted to help support the youth developmental mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs, particularly since I had benefited from its programs as a youngster, myself. Its work is immensely important to the youth of our community and therefore critical to the future of the community itself,” says Henry G. Herzing, chancellor and co- founder of Herzing University as well as the founder of the Herzing Educational Foundation.
At the check presentation, several teens who are participants in the Clubs’ Graduation Plus pre-college programs will share how a college education will prepare them and their peers to become productive, caring, responsible adults. The programs, Upward Bound and Stein Scholars, help young people pursue academic success and increase their chances for a better life through education. About the Herzing Educational Foundation
