6th Annual ‘Cans’ Film Festival Food Drive set for Sat., May 21

The Salvation Army’s Annual ‘Cans’ Film Festival food drive will take place on Saturday, May 21st from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at select Pick ‘n Save locations. Bring 10 or more canned goods or non-perishable food items and receive a movie pass compliments of Marcus Theatre ’s. One movie pass per household while supplies last at the following Pick ‘n Save locations: 1717 N. Mayfair Rd, 7401 W. Good Hope Rd.; and 8770 S. Howell St.

The Salvation Army is experiencing a significant increase in demand for food assistance. Salvation Army food pantries are lowest during summer months and after holidays. Our pantries serve nearly 50,000 individuals annually. Since the beginning of 2011 The Salvation Army has seen a 10% increase in new first time requests for food assistance.
