Young people will show off their impressive knowledge about the contributions of African Americans at the 3rd Annual Black Knowledge Bowl. The tournament for high school and middle school youth will be held Fri., Feb. 25 at the Milwaukee Public Museum at 800 W. Wells Street.
Teams of young scholars from area schools will participate in the question and answer tournament that will focus on different areas of history. Topics that will be covered during the day will include Milwaukee Black History, Writing & Art, Discovery & Industry, Africa , and Entertainment.
The competition will start at 9am in rooms on the ground floor of the Museum and conclude in the early afternoon with championship rounds. Jason Newton , anchor and reporter for WISN TV, will participate in the final round of the Black Knowledge Bowl. The event is being organized by the Social Development Commission. Cricket is the presenting sponsor of the Black Knowledge Bowl which also receives support from the Blood Center of Wisconsin, Assurant Health, Associated Bank, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, Landmark Credit Union, MATC and We Energies.
