Teams of high school age youth are signing up for the 5th Annual Black Knowledge Bowl. The event is being organized by the Social Development Commission, Manpower Group and volunteers from the community.
The annual academic challenge is lining up participants for the daylong event scheduled to be held Friday, March 15 at Manpower Group Headquarters in Downtown Milwaukee.
The Black Knowledge Bowl is intended to give young people the opportunity to show off their knowledge, compete for team prizes and engage in cultural enrichment activities.
The day includes hands-on workshops, lunch, cultural activities and a competition that will test participants on a wide range of Black History.
Youth will have to answer questions on Education & Government, Civil Rights & Law, Discovery & Industry, Africa, Literature, and Milwaukee Black History.
Last year, a team from the Boys and Girls Club took the first place trophy while a team from Riverside High School placed second.
Teams from area high schools and youth groups are being sought to sign up for a limited number of spots. To learn more about 5th Annual Black Knowledge Bowl, visit the SDC website at www.cr-sdc.org and click on the link for the Black Knowledge Bowl
