“Pushing the Envelope” to create transitional housing for young mothers aging out at 18 in the City of Milwaukee

October 9, 2010

Gerald Albright

Intercession Inc., is a non-profit organization that addresses homeless and displacement for young mothers ages 13-17 with babies throughout the city of Milwaukee. For more than 10 years Intercession has been a vital resource in the community providing housing, innovative services, and educational programs.

After a decade of services, Intercession Inc., now has the opportunity to begin offering transitional housing for young single mothers by launching a new project called “Andrea’s Place.” Andrea’s Place will provide the continuation of services needed for mothers ages 18-21 who need time to secure viable sources of income, permanent housing, and complete and/or continue their education.

Help us open this new facility by joining us for “An Evening of Jazz” featuring renowned saxophone artist Gerald Albright on October 21, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. The benefit concert will be held at the Milwaukee Public Museum in Steigleder Hall, located at 800 West Wells Street, Milwaukee, WI, 53233.

Intercession’s goal is to raise $150,000 this year to fund the new transitional housing project, which will be located at 3280 North 7th Street in the city of Milwaukee. Do not miss this opportunity to give back to our community and enjoy “An Evening of Jazz” by purchasing tickets or a table sponsorship today! Gerald Albright will captivate us with the soulful, jazz vibe of his latest album “Pushing the Envelope.”
