The American Heart Association is seeking a professional to assume the role of Health Equity Director. This individual will be charges with changing and saving lives within the African American community!
The Health Equity Director is responsible for implementing a regional health equity plan within minority communities. The position focuses on the Milwaukee and Twin Cities areas.
Responsibilities include: recruiting and mobilizing volunteers within the African American community; identify, cultivate, and secure prospective sponsors and strategic alliances in tandem with development staff; partnering with advocacy to increase engagement within the African American community; serving as liaison to governmental agencies focused on diversity and health disparities; managing the execution of events to increase attendance and impact.
We are seeking someone with:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 3 years experience in marketing and development outreach within the African American community
- Demonstrated 3 years experience leading the community on health issues
- Ability to work on multi-disciplinary teams
- Demonstrated relationship management is a must
- Must be willing and able to travel 10%
- Must pass a background check – criminal, credit & DMV
