NMS Bank executive to become the new MPS CFO

August 6, 2010

After nearly three years of advising Milwaukee’s oldest minority owned bank, NMSBank’s General Counsel Gerald Pace will take the reins of Milwaukee’s Public School (MPS) finances.

Attorney Gerald Pace, NMSBank ’s general counsel, has accepted an offer to become the new Milwaukee Public Schools’ Chief Financial Officer, and will assume these duties next month. Mr. Pace will take with him over 15 years of legal and financial management experience to the Milwaukee Public School system. Prior to joining NMSBank, Pace was a public finance associate with a major Milwaukee law firm. He also served as Chief Financial Officer with one of the largest Ohio school districts.

NMSBank President & CEO Erbert Johnson states “Gerald has a great opportunity to be successful at MPS. He has great credentials with a Big Ten master’s in finance and law degree. In fact, he is one of our own having graduated from the Madison Law School.”

“Gerald will have direct access to the business community via my memberships in Rotary, GMC, and MMAC. Incidentally, Milwaukee’s business community comes together ever year to raise millions of dollars for the community via the Loan Executive format.

NMSBank believes in some sense that it is offering its own version of that model in losing this talented individual in service to Milwaukee’s children.” NMSBank congratulates Gerald Pace on his future position with Milwaukee Public Schools. The bank looks forward to Mr. Pace continuing to make a positive difference within the community.

North Milwaukee State Bank is a certified CDFI and statechartered bank with nearly $100 million in assets. Founded in 1971, it is Wisconsin’s oldest minority-owned bank. For more information, visit www.nmsbank.com.
