Tommy Walls, a fouryear member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee (BGCGM), was recently named 2010 Youth of the Year for the state of Wisconsin by Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). In December 2009, he was named the 2010 Northwestern Mutual Foundation Youth of Year for BGCGM. With the Wisconsin Youth of the Year title, Walls received a $1,000 scholarship from the Reader’s Digest Foundation and a $1,500 scholarship from the Wisconsin Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs. This summer, he will compete against teens from other 13 states to be named BGCA’s Midwest Youth of the Year title and a $10,000 scholarship. Walls is among hundreds of local Youth of the Year winners across the country recognized by BGCA for his sound character, leadership skills and willingness to give back to the community.
