Our Mission: Empowering Milwaukee County residents with the resources to move beyond poverty
For over forty-five years, the Social Development Commission (SDC) has served as a planner, coordinator, and implementer of human service programs for low-income individuals and families in Milwaukee County. SDC is responsible for the W-2 Eligibility and Assessment portion of the W-2 program and coordinates employment support for qualified residents. We currently have the following job openings:
Career and Family Coach
This position assesses client needs and barriers to employment and offers training opportunities to resolve them. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a human services area and two years related experience and/or training; ability to develop and maintain relationships in a multicultural environment; good analytical and communication skills.
Site Manager
This position is responsible for the coordination and operation of the assessment component of the program and includes supervision of staff. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a human services area and five years related experience; supervisory experience; the ability to develop and maintain relationships in a multicultural environment; good analytical and communication skills.
Career and Family Coach Supervisor
This position oversees the eligibility and assessment operation to ensure program staff are trained and results are achieved. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a human services area and five years related experience in case management; ability to develop and maintain relationships in a multicultural environment.
Navigator
This position is the first point of contact with clients and is responsible for providing clients information on available community resources, programs and services. Requirements include a High School degree or equivalent and three years related experience and/or training; ability to develop and maintain relationships in a multicultural environment; good communication skills.
Operations Assistant
This position will perform administrative duties, including maintaining files, general office activities and communication with callers. Requirements include a High School degree or equivalent and three years related experience.
Integrated Services Liaison
This position will be responsible for building community alliances, assisting clients in addressing and resolving immediate needs and connecting them to community services. Requirements include an Associate degree in a related area and two years related experience including counseling; ability to develop and maintain relationships in a multicultural environment.
Disability Advocate
This position is responsible for the coordination of the enrollment, referral and assessment process for clients with disabilities; will monitor progress, identify barriers to employment eligibility and provide support services. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a human services area and three years related experience in case management; ability to develop and maintain relationships in a multicultural environment.
Quality Assurance Coordinator
This position is responsible for monitoring service delivery relating to contracts, required performance standards, quality control of computer data systems entry and maintenance and case management service planning and program recommendations. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a social services related area and two years related experience including case management; ability to develop and maintain relationships in a multicultural environment.
Fact Finding Coordinator
This position is responsible for providing applicants, participants and the general public with information on available community resources, programs and services. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a social service related area and two years related experience in case management and counseling; ability to develop and maintain relationships in a multicultural environment. Additional education with emphasis on MSW desired.
Division Manager – Internal
The Internal Division Manager, under the direction of the Program Director, will provide oversight to the program Integrated Services and Quality Assurance. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in related area and three years related experience; strong organizational and time management skills; ability to develop and maintain relationships in a multicultural environment.
Division Manager – External
The External Division Manager, under the direction of the Program Director, will provide oversight to the program’s site operations, working closely with Site Managers to ensure quality service. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in related area and three years related experience; strong organizational and time management skills; supervisory experience; ability to develop and maintain relationships in a multicultural environment.
