Gift of Wings Fireworks Kite Festival begins at 11 a.m.
Milwaukee County Parks and US Bank invites the public to attend the spectacular July 3 fireworks show at Veteran’s Park on the lakefront starting at dusk (approx. 9:25p.m.). The skies will light over the lakefront in Milwaukee for 60 minutes of “oohs and aahs.”
“The summer is an exciting time for Milwaukee County as we prepare for a season of festivals, concerts, and family-fun events like the July 3 fireworks at the Lakefront,” said County Executive Chris Abele “We hope to have record attendance at this year’s grand fireworks show, and at the many other events we host throughout this festive time of year.”
Visitors should plan to arrive early to the show and there is no overnight parking in Veterans Park. Veterans Park Special Event Parking Operations begin July 3 at 6a.m. Fees for cars are $20. To ensure safety, the Milwaukee Police Department and the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department will close vehicular access to North Lincoln Memorial Drive shortly before the fireworks.
Food and concessions will be available. At 11a.m. the annual Fireworks Kite Festival in Veterans Park will begin with all kite fliers welcomed and continue through 6 p.m. Kites will color the sky throughout the day and kite performers like Dan Jones and his giant 4-line Revolution kite will be on hand performing, along with the giant kites of Yves LaForest and many more.
