Milwaukee, WI – The Alzheimer’s Association will offer a seven-week program designed to help individuals living with dementia and chronic conditions enjoy a healthier life. “Living Well with Chronic Conditions” will be held on seven consecutive Thursdays beginning September 29, from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. The series will conclude on November 10. The program will be held at the Alzheimer’s Association, 620 N. 76th Street, Suite 160, in Milwaukee. This class is open to individuals living with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or early-stage Alzheimer’s disease and their care partners.
The diagnosis of a cognitive condition like MCI, Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia is life-changing and requires support and information to best manage and cope with chronic health conditions. This program will help you identify practical ways to deal with fatigue and pain, discover better nutrition and exercise choices, and learn best practices for communicating with your doctor and family about your health. Coping with other co-existing health conditions like arthritis, asthma, diabetes, heart disease, mild depression, obesity, cancer and osteoporosis will also be discussed.
Advance registration is required. To register, please contact Jennifer McAlister at 414-479-8800 or 800-272-3900.
