Milwaukee, WI – Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele is proud to announce his endorsement of Thomas Harris to represent the 6th Senate District.
Abele calls Harris a proven leader and someone who has spent his career in public service impacting change in the community.
“At the County and City, we’ve put a stake in the ground to take real action against the problems facing our city. We need a champion in Madison to help us and I know
Thomas Harris is that best person to do that,” County Executive Chris Abele said.
As the former Director of Community Relations for Milwaukee County, Harris worked closely with County Executive Abele and other leaders to reform the criminal justice system. Harris also led the County Executive’s efforts to reinstate the Milwaukee County Human Rights Commission.
“I have known and worked with Thomas for years and I can say unequivocally that he is the best person in the race to help us tackle the challenges facing Milwaukee,” Abele said. “I’m proud to call Thomas a friend and I know he will represent the people of the 6th District and all of Milwaukee with the leadership, passion and integrity they deserve.”
Harris is a Milwaukee native born and raised in the 6th district. Harris has dedicated most of his adult life to public service, working as a State Senate Chief of Staff and serving as Director of Community Relations for Milwaukee County Executive Office and a Special Assistant at the Milwaukee Mayor’s office.
