Former political rivals came together in Milwaukee on Friday to show united support for the Democratic candidate for Attorney General Susan Happ.
After a highly contested primary, Rep. Jon Richards and Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne appeared with Happ on Friday at a news conference in Milwaukee.
Richards and Ozanne agreed that it was time for Democrats to “close ranks” and work to elect candidate Susan Happ.
The Jefferson-based prosecutor won her primary contest by a wide margin, something she says is proof voters are ready for a new kind of Attorney General who will protect the rights of all Wisconsin citizens.
Happ has been the Jefferson County District Attorney since 2009 – the first Democrat to hold the office in 70 years.
As the Democratic nominee for Attorney General, Happ will face Waukesha County District Attorney Brad Schimel in the general election.
