Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs and Mayor Tom Barrett and other dignitaries and community members attended the grand re-opening of Gee’s Clippers & Hair Design, 2215 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Dr., Saturday, December 7, 2013 in Bronzeville (Milwaukee’s African-American Arts Cultural & Entertainment District). Attendees also viewed the newly paved parking lot adjacent to the barber shop. “I am excited to welcome Gaulien Smith back to Bronzeville,” Alderwoman Coggs said. “Bronzeville and North Dr. Martin Luther King Drive are getting back a valuable business and the amenity of public parking (on a former vacant lot) adjacent to it will hopefully not only help Gee’s Clippers but will also attract additional businesses to the area.” Coggs, Smith and Mayor Barrett are pictured above.
