Milwaukee Awards for Neighborhood Development Innovation now accepting nominations

Nominations for 15th Annual Milwaukee Awards for Neighborhood Development Innovation (MANDI) will be accepted through October 23, 2013.

The awards pay tribute to the people and organizations working tirelessly to make Milwaukee a great place to live, learn, work and grow. Individuals, organizations, corporations and projects throughout Milwaukee are eligible for nomination.

Nominations will be accepted at www.lisc.org/milwaukee in the following categories:

BMO Harris Bank Cornerstone Award: a longstanding commitment to a neighborhood(s) that demonstrates persistence and effectiveness over time

Northern Trust Navigator Award: an individual that has provided visionary leadership–bringing together diverse voices and resources to improve the community

PNC Trail Blazer Award: an innovative approach to a community problem(s)

State Farm Building Blocks Award: a real estate project that contributes significantly to the enhancement of the community

Brewers Community Foundation Public Space Award: the creation or use of public space that contributes significantly to the overall well-being of the community

MANDI is hosted by LISC Milwaukee (Local Initiative Support Corporation). Winners are selected by an independent committee, and announced at a ceremony on Wednesday, April 9.

Visit www.lisc.org/milwaukee for detailed category descriptions and complete nomination instructions. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, October 23, 2013.

2013 MANDI winners included: Washington Park, Charlotte John-Gomez, Our Next Generation, Clock Shadow Building and Progressive Community Health Services.
