March 23, 2013

Milwaukee County residents will get the opportunity to have their taxes done at no charge plus a lot more at Super Saturday.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program of the Milwaukee Asset Building Coalition and the Social Development Commission will hold the special day on Saturday, March 23rd. Super Saturday will be held from 9 am to 2 pm at the SDC VITA site at 4041 N. Richards Street.

In addition to the free tax filing service, residents will be able to access on Super Saturday blood pressure screening, credit repair and debt counseling by Greenpath, access to American Cancer Society’s Sankofa Cancer Prevention Project, the opportunity to open a checking or savings account for direct deposit of tax refunds, public benefits enrollment with the Milwaukee Health Department, and more.

Super Saturday is free and open to the public.

To learn more about the VITA program and what you will need to bring with you to have your taxes done, visit the SDC website at www.cr-sdc.org and click on the link for “Free Tax Preparation”.
