To counteract the flu and approaching winter season, Repairers of the Breach will provide free flu vaccinations for homeless and impoverished Milwaukeeans.
Free Flu Shot Days have been scheduled for Nov. 5 between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., and Nov. 7 between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Pharmacists from Walgreens Pharmacy will administer the shots at the Repairers of the Breach medical clinic at 1335 W. Vliet St., Milwaukee adjacent to the organization’s daytime resource center for the homeless.
“We are pleased to offer this service and grateful to Walgreens for their cooperation in maximizing access to vaccines for the entire community,” said Debra Minsky-Kelly, recently appointed medical clinic coordinator for Repairers of the Breach. She added that pre-registration for vaccines is requested, though not required. Persons can schedule a date and time for their vaccines by contacting 414-342-1065, or visiting the Repairers of the Breach medical center.
At its daytime resource center, Repairers of the Breach serves homeless Milwaukeeans with a variety of daily programs and services in areas of employment assistance, literacy training, adult basic education classes, counseling, medical and health treatment, food and clothing distribution.
