On Saturday, Sept. 15, the Milwaukee branch of the NAACP – Young Adult Committee will be hosting “The Freedom Party,” at The Polaris, Hyatt Regency Rooftop (333 W. Kilbourn Avenue). An After Party to the NAACP’s Annual Freedom Fund Dinner— the annual fundraiser for the local branch to support programming efforts, which also takes place at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee-Downtown, in the Grand Ballroom— the social gathering was designed to engage and attract young professionals to become more involved with the organization.
Organizers hope to bring together young and older adults from Milwaukee’s community to enjoy two separate but connected events.
“It is exciting that so many young adults are involved and engaged in this process,” remarked James Hall, President of the Milwaukee branch of the NAACP. “They bring talent, ideas and leadership that is required for this transformation that must occur.”
“I am looking forward to The 2nd annual Freedom Party on September 15, as it continues a movement of collaboration within the NAACP and Milwaukee’s greater community,” said Jasmine Johnson, Chair of the Young Adult Committee for the NAACP’s Milwaukee branch.
The party begins at 9pm; there is a $10 minimum donation to the NAACP to attend this event. The evening will kick-off with live music by saxophonist Marcus Adams while DJ Sherman keeps the party going until the wee hours of the morning. Cocktail attire is required.
