Following a successful two day run of African World Festival, the All White Affair was held at the Summerfest grounds. The AWF fundraiser is normally held prior to the festival, but organizers changed it up this year, allowing for extended use of the grounds and allowing for more people to attend. Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church held its 1st Annual Community Day recently. They had several vendors to share resources including; The Parenting Network, Fondy Farmer’s Market, Free haircuts, free food, Jackson State University, MATC, American Red Cross, United Way, Guaranty Bank, Molina Health Care and the Milwaukee Police and Fire Department all participated. Local artist Ras `Ammar Nsoroma participated in African World Festival and Garveyfest displaying his talents. His work is widely known thoughout the city, and he often participates in art related events like the Gallery Day reception put on by The Terry McCormick Gallery.
