Connecting residents with jobs

May 26, 2012

Hundreds of Milwaukee area residents got the chance to talk with employers hiring new workers plus access other valuable resources at the SDC Spring Community Job and Resources Fair.

The daylong event was hosted at Greater New Birth Church and attracted many local residents. There they were able to meet with businesses who are hiring, get information on job training programs and learn how to get their driver’s licenses re-instated.

The Fair also featured Child Support case workers, health screenings and workshops, educational facilities, financial institutions, and much more.

The Community Job and Resource Fair was organized by the Social Development Commission and is one of two such annual events held in Milwaukee County.

The second 2012 Fair will be held in October in conjunction with the Milwaukee Fatherhood Summit.

For more information on that, visit the SDC website at www.cr-sdc.org, click on the “Special Events” tab and then the link to the Milwaukee Fatherhood Summit.
