Senator Taylor & women of faith-Milwaukee partner for women’s health event “Healthy Women, Healthy Living”

Senator Lena C. Taylor (D-Milwaukee) and Women of Faith-Milwaukee will be hosting “Healthy Women, Healthy Living,” a women’s health event, to educate women on a number of topics related to their health. It will feature healthcare professionals discussing the following issues: obesity and its effects on the body; a serious conversation about HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness from SisterLove, Inc., a reproductive justice organization; and a presentation on skin care and plastic surgery from Dr. Elton Tinsley of Dr. Tinsley & Associates, Inc. and Flawless by Dr. Tinsley, Inc.

The event will also feature a cooking demonstration that will give participants an opportunity to learn about healthy food options and ways to prepare healthier meals.

The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18th, 2012, at Destiny Youth Plaza, located at 7220 North 76th Street (76th & Good Hope Road) in Milwaukee. This event is free and open to the public, but a $5 donation is appreciated. Preregistration is strongly encouraged.
