The Wisconsin Black Historical Society held its annual community Kwanzaa Celebration on Monday, Dec. 26, 2011. This day marks the first day of the seven day celebration. (Bottom photo) Community activist and retired firefighter Oshi Adelabu is joined by his 4 year-old grandson, Zyon as he presented the ‘Libation’ Ceremony. This ceremony is a cultural tradition that invites ancestors to join in on the celebration, this one being Kwanzaa.
