The Reverend Dr. John R. Walton, Jr., Senior Pastor, Calvary Baptist Church of Milwaukee, the church’s Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Committee and the Political Action Committee of the Milwaukee Branch of the NAACP have joined forces to co-host an opportunity for our churches , family , friends and others in the community to become Special Registration Deputies. Special Registration Deputies play a very important role in the democratic process be registering people to vote. The goal is to promote increased registration of electors.
This free one-hour training session conducted by the City of Milwaukee Elections Commission will take place on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 12 noon, Calvary Baptist Church’s Fellowship Hall, 2959 North Teutonia. Parking is in the rear (east) and west of the church. Participants are asked to bring an acceptable form of photo ID and must be a United States citizen, a resident of Wisconsin/Milwaukee, and at least 18 years of age by the upcoming election day.
Upon completion of the training session, individuals will be able to register church and family members, friends and others in the community.
