On Saturday October 15, 2011 the Sisters Network® Inc. (SNI), will be hosting their Annual Gift for Life Block Walk at the Dr. Martin Luther King Community Center, 1531 W Vilet Street. Join breast cancer survivors, your neighbors and friends at this annual event designed to heighten awareness of and respect for the power of early detection and treatment of breast cancer. It also will promote a sense of community in addressing the devastating impact that breast cancer has on women in Milwaukee and send a message of hope regarding the value of health and wellness seeking behaviors to our local neighborhoods.
Sisters Network® Inc. (SNI) is a leading voice and only national African American breast cancer survivorship organization in the United States. Sisters Network® Inc. (SNI) is governed by an elected people of Directors and assisted by an appointed medical advisory committee. Membership is 3000 people; which include more than 40 affiliate survivor run chapters nationwide. The organization’s purpose is to save lives and provide a broader scope of knowledge that addresses the breast cancer survivorship crisis affecting African American women around the country.
