Central City Neighborhood celebrates 11th Annual Harvest Day

September 24, 2011

Residents and friends gather again to celebrate abundance in their neighborhoods and the greater Milwaukee community at Harvest Day. Harvest Day 2011 will be held on Saturday, October 1st from 12pm-4pm on the 2200 block of North 17th Street. Harvest Day honors the bounty of Walnut Way’s urban gardens and community revitalization efforts and provides activities for the whole family with a children’s parade at noon; a community dedication and program at 12:30pm; and local food, music, poetry, children’s activities, and neighborhood/ garden tours until 4pm. Informational booths from Milwaukee- area organizations and vendors selling goods will be on-site throughout the day.

Walnut Way Conservation Corp. is a resident-driven Central City neighborhood organization that lives a mission to sustain economically diverse and abundant communities through civic engagement, environmental stewardship, and creating venues for prosperity.

This event is free and open to the public. If you have any questions please call the Walnut Way office at 414.264.2326.
