The 28th Annual Martin Luther King All-a-thon, sponsored by CHURCH, Inc., will take place on Saturday, May 28th , with registration starting at 7:45 a.m. and takeoff time at 8:30 am , from Hephatha Lutheran Church, 1720 West Locust Street. The registration fee of $15.00 includes a commemorative 2011 T-shirt.
Participants in the MLK All-a-thon may walk, jog, skate or bike the five-mile route, which starts and end at Hephatha Lutheran Church, with two rest stops provided. Refreshments will be provided at the end of the walk for all participants.
Our Honorary Chairperson, Portia Young Channel 12 News Anchor, is hopeful that large numbers of youth and adults will participate in the May 28th, All-a-thon as an encouragement to all high school students to pursue their education beyond high school.
Each participant in the MLK All-a-thon is asked to secure sponsor to contribute toward MLK Scholarships that will be awarded at the 2012 MLK Celebration, Sunday, January 8, 3:00 p.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church. To date the MLK scholarship fund has awarded over $800.000 to more than 450 deserving students.
