Chris Abele represents new leadership for Milwaukee County Executive

February 12, 2011

Chris Abele

Milwaukee County faces enormous challenges, and the old ways of doing things just aren’t working. We need new leadership to turn things around, and that’s why we need to vote Chris Abele for Milwaukee County Executive on Tuesday, February 15.

As a civic leader and community activist, Chris has spent much of the past two decades working hard to make Milwaukee County a better place. He is a strong supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs that provide hope and opportunity to young people in our community, and he helped revitalize Bradford Beach, the Mitchell Park Domes, and other key County institutions. And Chris has worked with people from all walks of life to get things done, and hasn’t let politics get in the way of progress.

Now he wants to continue that service as Milwaukee County Executive, and he is the best candidate for the job.

Chris is the only candidate for County Executive to outline a real plan to create jobs, grow businesses and spark economic growth and opportunity. C

hris understands how critical it is to tackle the unacceptably high African American unemployment rate in our community.

Chris knows we must save the bus system so we can connect workers to jobs.

And Chris has new, fresh ideas to consolidate and streamline County government to preserve key services and improve efficiency that saves your taxpayer money.

Perhaps most important, Chris isn’t part of the status quo. He is an outside voice for bold change and reform at the County, and he will listen to the community, not the special interests. Chris deeply believes in community service, making a difference and giving back to others.

Chris isn’t running because he needs this job, he’s running for County Executive because he wants this job to help create more private sector jobs across Milwaukee County.

Chris isn’t running for the glamour of office, he’s running to get the County’s fiscal house in order, get the budget under control and tackle runaway debt.

He isn’t running for a springboard to higher office; Chris is running to preserve the vital services that people across Milwaukee County rely on every day – transit, public safety, mental health, parks.

Chris is running to bring Milwaukee County back, and he is the only the candidate who can break free from the status quo. Chris knows that politics too often gets in the way of progress. Milwaukee County right now, more than ever, needs a leader who isn’t a career politician, and doesn’t adhere to the old way of doing business. Chris Abele is that leader.

Chris will work with everyone to get things done – all sides, all voices. When we look around Milwaukee County, we know we can do better. With Chris Abele as County Executive, we will. Vote Chris Abele for Milwaukee County Executive on February 15.
