Winter parking regulations begin Dec. 1

December 2, 2010

City of Milwaukee winter parking regulations are in effect from December 1, 2010 through March 1, 2011. Most residential streets have alternate side night parking during this period. However there are exceptions to this rule. Overnight parking is prohibited on major arterial streets and bus routes during this time period. These streets are not posted. In addition some streets on the east side and near south side that allow overnight parking on both sides of the street will only allow alternate side night parking during the December to March time period. These streets are also not posted. To find the winter parking regulations for a specific street, visit www.city.milwaukee.gov/mpw or call the Parking Information Desk at 414-286-8350. Communication Assistants are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to answer your questions.

Public Works offers a test message system, Snow Mobile – Winter Alert at www.city.milwaukee.gov/mpw. Residents and businesses can sign up for alerts regarding the 4 inch snow rule and snow emergencies.
