Afro Fest update: Thank you Milwaukee

June 26, 2010

AFRO FEST is proud to announce that things are progressing very well and on target. AFRO FEST 2010 will be held at Washington Park Band Shell 1859 N. 40th Street. Sat. July 17 & Sun. July 18. 12 PM – 7 PM. We have raised enough funds to pay for $1,000,000.00 in liability insurance, Park payment as well as all required permits. We would like to thank the community, 300 plus volunteers, and all donors that helped us reach our goal thus far by giving your time, talent and donations.

However we have one major goal yet to be reached and we are asking individuals, organizations, the business community to join forces to make this happen. It has truly been a blessing, although we have an expense that still needs to be addressed. Milwaukee County Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture requires a payment of $8,669.62 for the services of the Milwaukee Co. Sheriff’s Department security.

We still welcome sponsors, food vendors, market place vendors, space is still available.

For more information and additional donations contact Michael Brox founder/director @ 414-748-1111, P.O. Box 080071 Milwaukee, WI. 53208
