Born2Dream Series 2010 Youth Entrepreneur Tradeshow April 24th

April 17, 2010

…As Long As there’s a Dream, There’s Hope

To be held at: Holy Redeemer Institutional Church of God in Christ, 3500 W Mother Daniels Way
Date: Saturday April 24th 2010
Time: Noon until 5 p.m. Tradeshow
Two shows 2 p.m to 4 p.m.
Throw it in the Bag Fashion Show… 6 p.m to 8 p.m. “This City Largest Youth Fashion Show”

This event is a collaboration between Center for Teaching Entrepreneurship/CTE, “I HAVE A DREAM” FOUNDATION and BORN 2 DREAM. The purpose of this collaboration is to offer youth: (1) the experience of owning and running his/her own business for a day, (2) a chance to sign up with CTE for ongoing training in entrepreneurship, and (3) an understanding of the value of the dollar, in turn, opening their own savings accounts with Legacy Bank or US Bank with the assistance of their parents. Born 2 Dream will provide the educational tools to teach youth how to run a successful business. There is a five step program that will be presented in various schools throughout the city to train on becoming a successful entrepreneur. We will feature over 40 booths all ran by the next generation of entrepreneurs.

This tradeshow will feature a host of young free-spirited entrepreneurs between the ages of 6 and 18 years of age who will have local Business Mentors. The Business Mentors will assist the younger entrepreneurs in a structured mentorship program. The concept is to transition the minds of our younger generation from relying on job applications to creating one’s own financial independence. They will be encouraged to reach deep inside themselves, identify a dream, and then turn it into a business reality. Youth will be divided into sub-groups based on their age. The sub-groups will compete to sell their products and highlight their services through creativity. The sub-group with the highest gross sales and most creative spirit will receive a cash prize. The winners will also be featured in a major newspaper publication. On this same day you need to come out and find out who will win the School Idol contest/ this city’s 1# singer. And the Best for last we at Born 2 Dream want to make 5 lucky young entrepreneurs into Thousand Aires over a 6 month time period starting this summer. The Thousand Aare Club will be featured all through out the summer at different festivals and Tradeshows so look for them and support them and the Born 2 Dream movement.
